GLASGOW clubbers climbed aboard for fun when the Tuxedo Princess nightclub moored up on the Clyde in 1988.

The converted car ferry featured no fewer than eight bars, plus a huge revolving dancefloor on the converted car deck. On busy nights up to 2000 clubbers used to pack the ship's many decks and gangways.

Christened 'The Love Boat', after the US TV drama, the ship, tied up in the shadow of the Kingston Bridge, was a city landmark.

At first an upmarket venue, over the years the mood slipped, from 'cocktails in Cannes, to beer from cans', and with the advent of the rave generation, the club's fate was sealed.

After 10 years on the Clyde, the vessel set sail for good in 1998.
