THESE Possilpark locals seemed happy to pose for our photographer when this picture was taken in the early 1900s.

The gracious looking bar, known as the Crusader or Williamson's, sat on the corner of Mansion Street and Saracen Street and had been serving beer, porter and strong liquors to the thirsty locals since 1880.

Competition was fierce, with at least another six bars in Saracen Street all serving up the same fare.

The original caption to this picture reads: "Scene of the Possilpark tragedy". Although, with no specific date given, and despite digging in the archives, we have been unable to track down this 'tragedy'.

Today, the pub and flats are long gone and a housing office sits on the site.
