YOUNGSTERS are being urged to sign up for an annual end-of-season football festival being staged at St Mirren.

They get the chance to star in five-a-side games to be played on the main pitch at the Paisley club's stadium and to meet players from the first team

The free festival for 10 to 18-year-olds is being organised by Street Stuff, an anti-crime initiative involving Renfrewshire Council, Police Scotland, St Mirren FC, SFA, Engage Renfewshire and Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

Senior Councillor Eddie Devine said, "Street Stuff is now in its fifth year and remains a successful diversionary project which has lowered youth disorder rates across Renfrewshire."

Competitions are to be held for different age groups. The event is being staged on Thursday, May 15.

Every player will get a goodie bag and medal.
