ALTHOUGH it might look like the stuff of nightmares, these wee ones at Glasgow Rottenrow Hospital were about as bang up to date as you could get in 1936.
Tucked up in bed, and surrounded by a threatening looking phalanx of the great and the good, they were listening to Glasgow's first hospital radio station.
While today kids often go into hospital with a host of electronic toys and gizmos to keep them entertained, back in the pre-war days all these three had was a toy car, a stuffed monkey and some crackly headphones for company.
Thankfully, things have moved on a bit since then, but the city still has its own dedicated children's hospital radio service. Radio Lollipop, set up in 1992, keeps the wee ones at the city's Sick Kids' Hospital entertained.
