YOU'D certainly hit the bullseye if you went into this bar for a drink in the 1970s.

Targets, on Renfield Street, unveiled its new name and its new look in 1978.

The brightly tiled exterior, complete with welded metal rifle sight, was certainly eye-catching.

Generations of small boys would walk past the bar before grabbing their heart, as if having been shot, and stagger away in a city centre version of the back court game of Best Man Falls. Later, at kicking out time, and for completely different reasons, some of their mums and dads would also stagger away from the bar.

The pub also operated under the McArthur Park, Scruples and Cafe Cini names. Today, it still serves drinks, but is now called the Bay Horse.
