THE William bothers' new Drygate craft brewery, bar and restaurant is built on part of Tennent Caledonian's sprawling Wellpark site.
Even back in the 1920s, Tennents were eager to innovate, starting with the swap from horse-drawn drays to lorries for beer deliveries.
The Drygate, or Drygait, is one of the oldest streets in Glasgow and originally linked Glasgow Cathedral to the Molendinar Burn.
Even in medieval times the local monks likes a tipple, and with beer then being safer to drink than the local water, who can blame them?
Hugh and Robert Tennent founded their first brewery in the Drygate in 1740. Little did they know that over 270 years later, the site would still be the toast of Glasgow's beer fans.
