I heard that NHS 24 have changed their number to 111.
Do they still provide the same service in Scotland?
Yes - their service hasn't changed - just the number.
If you are ill when your GP surgery is closed, either through the night or at the weekend, and you can't wait until it reopens, you can call NHS 24 free on 111.
The call is free from any phone - including all mobiles.
Don't worry if you call the old number as it will still be running alongside the new, easy to remember, 111 number for a limited period.
However, if someone's life is in danger and you need an ambulance, always dial 999.
