BING Crosby, 'The Old Groaner', isn't the first name you think of when it comes to selling lager.
Mind you, the marketing men at Tennent's killed two birds with one stone when they landed the crooner for this 1976 TV slot.
Although we're sure Bing's services didn't come cheap, at least the golf- loving singer was already in Scotland, meaning the brewer didn't have to fork out for a first class airfare all the way from California.
Crosby was the world's first multi-media star, ruling the record, radio and movie charts throughout the 1930s and 40s. Looking at him here, it's strange to think his crooning style was once thought a threat to US morals.
