CLEANSE your face morning and night - that's one of the most important things we can all do to look our best, according to Los Angeles celebrity skin doctor Howard Murad.

Removing make-up and impurities at the end of the day will allow the skin to renew while you sleep, a vital factor whatever your age or skin type.

Wearing sunscreen every day and drinking plenty of water are also important, according to the man who has devoted more than 50 years of research to establish that beauty and health are vitally linked. It takes an inclusive approach to improve every cell in the body, especially those on your face.

Loved by celebs including Jerry Hall, Taylor Swift and Jennifer Lopez, the top skincare brand has just opened the new MuradSpace counter at Debenhams in Argyle Street, Glasgow.

It gives everyone the chance to have a complimentary skin health assessment inspired by the consultations he offers his more famous clients.

"Using YouCam, our state of the art skin analysis system, our trained staff guide you to make everyday choices that will support your overall health so you can achieve healthy skin and live happily," says Dr Murad.

The new counter is quite a coup for Debenhams, it is one of the few places in the country that offers all 12 of the brand's skincare ranges, as well as health supplements and books.

Whatever your skin concern, there are products to try, from blemish control and anti-ageing to redness, enlarged pores, sun protection and bodycare.

Among the high-performance hero products are the Soothing Gel Cleanser, £27, with goji berry ad peppermint leaf extracts to soothe red and inflamed skin, and the Perfecting Day Cream, £39, with SPF 30 to hydrate as well as protect from the sun. Moisturisers and serums sink into the skin beautifully, leaving it plumped and looking fresh all day long.

Coming out next month is the Blackhead and Pore Clearing Duo, £50, a two-step treatment that works to purify pores. Step one draws out stubborn debris and excess oil. Step two seals the pores after the dirt has been extracted which prevents them from becoming oxidised and turning back into a visible blackhead.

There's a holistic approach to Dr Murad's ethos.

"My inclusive health approach is a lifestyle choice that helps people discover a path to their personal best," he says.

"Looking better through using topical skincare products, living better through cell-building nutrition and eater water-rich fruit and veg and feeling better by reducing stress levels and taking time for you."

A trained pharmacist, he started making his own products when his patients weren't getting the results they wanted from prescriptions and over the counter products.

"My patients loved the results and the brand really grew from there. Today we have highly effective, targeted solutions that provide continual improvement of health for rapid resolution of every skin concern."
