Multi-tasking formulations lead the way in the new season make-up launches hitting the shops in coming weeks.

One of the most anticipated has to be the BareMinerals Bareskin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation, £26.

Fans of the powder mineral brand will be familiar with the swirl, tap, buff action of the best-selling original formulation.

This new addition, including a brightening serum, brings all the mineral benefits in a liquid. As you can expect from BareMinerals, it has the minimum of ingredients, so no unnecessary chemicals, and it is suitable for even the most sensitive of skin, leaving a dewy finish. Apply with the specially designed

BareMinerals Perfecting Face Brush, £24, to seamlessly blend.

Camouflage redness and dark circles under the eyes with the Tom Ford Concealing Pen, £40. The luxurious formula is lightweight and the genius applicator tip means it couldn't be easier to reach under eyes and around the nose and chin.

Part of the Flawless Complexion Collection, the range also includes Traceless Perfecting Foundation, £62, for medium to full coverage and a natural, long-wearing finish that hydrates all day long; and a dual-ended Correcting Pen, £34, for touch ups on the go.

A highlight of the Tom Ford Fall 2014 Colour Collection is the Contouring Cheek Colour Duo, £56. A powder blush with the comfort of a cream, the compact has cheek colour to shade and define and a highlighter. A dream to apply, colour Soft Core should most skintones.

Eye Colour Quad, £63, in Nude Dip effortlessly smoothes on a wash of colour. Use dry or wet for a more dramatic look. New Lip Colour, £37 each, in Negligee and Twist of Fate, are ultra creamy for smooth application. Nail Lacquer, £26, in Black Cherry is the must-have colour of the season.

Bobbi Brown's trademark pop of colour takes a new twist with the Bobbi Brown Sheer Brights Eye Shadow, £17.50, available next month. Don't be scared by the bold shades, they are very wearable, translating catwalk trends to the high street. The 15 colours in the range, from matte and metallic to shimmer, give lids a light wash of colour.

Actress Charlotte Rampling is the face of the Nars Audacious Lipstick Collection, £24 each, on counter in September. To mark the 20th anniversary of the cult French brand, the 40-shade collection offers intense, pigment-rich colours that are all actually very wearable and beautifully moisturising.

Control shine with the Clinique Anti Blemish Solutions Powder Make-up, £24.50, on counter in September. Not at all cakey, use the smooth powder to beat shine and neutralise spots. It comes in a handy compact for touch ups on the go and has been designed for those who suffer from redness and discolouration resulting from acne scarring.

Add a sheer blush with Clinique Chubby Stick Cheek Colour Balm, £19. The latest addition to the hugely popular Chubby Stick range, apply with your finger for a healthy glow.

If you want lips moisturised without too much colour, try Clinique Chubby Stick Baby Tint Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm, £17. Packed with vitamin C, shea butter, mango seed butter and jojoba oil extract, there are four shades - orange, pink, red and violent - designed to bring out the natural tone of your lips.

There are skincare benefits in the new Estee Lauder Perfectionist Youth-Infusing Make-up, £37, on counter in September. The hard-working foundation plumps the look of lines and wrinkles, and optical ingredients blur imperfections.

Available at the same time is the Estee Lauder Pure Colour Envy Sculpting EyeShadow Five-Colour Palette, £40. The chic compact will take you from day to night with a selection of nudes and rich, darker colours that can be applied wet or dry. The silky smooth formulation lasts all day long.

For those who like a super-light no-make-up look, try Origins GinZing Revitalizing Mineral Makeup, £25, to even out skintone. Easily buildable, use on its own for a sheer finish or apply more layers for a polished look. The mesh sifter is a handy idea, which means it won't spill out in your make-up bag.
