ALL things organic are being celebrated next month by Soil Association Scotland.

In its biggest ever Organic September, the focus is on the small changes we can all make to shopping habits to go organic.

As well as looking at the food we eat, organic beauty is on the agenda.

At the moment there are currently no legal standards for organic beauty so some products are labelled organic even if they are not.

Look for the Soil Association symbol to make sure what you put on your body is as important as what goes in it.

Organic Beauty Week runs from September 14 to 21 and its Campaign for Clarity breaks through the buzzwords and confusing sales pitches, calling on brands to be honest and open in their organic claims.

"We believe organic beauty should mean just that: beauty products that comply to strict standards and a certification stamp that gives consumers the confidence to know that what they are buying is truly organic, from the beautiful plants and herbs used in the formulas to the non-organic ingredients that are left out," said Emma Reinhold, trade relations manager at Soil Association.

Products recommended by Soil Association Scotland include Neal's Yard Remedies Wild Rose Moisturising SPF30, £25, a natural moisturiser with 100% natural non-amino mineral filters blended with antioxidant radiance-boosting organic wild rosehip oil, organic shea butter and baobab oil.

Use it on its own or on top of your daily moisturiser. Hypoallergenic, it is ideal for sensitive skin.

Pai Rapid Radiance Mask, £30, boosts dull and lacklustre skin with powerful rosehip bioregenerate oil. Polish off the buttery cream with the enclosed muslin cloth for soft, dewy skin.

Natracare Cleansing Facial Wipes, £3.99, are infused with organic essential oils of almond, apricot and chamomile to leave skin clean and refreshed without drying it out.

Therapi Honey Gel Cleanser, £25, is a lightly foaming gel with nourishing honey and natural extracts of yucca to gently cleanse the face and remove impurities.

Start your day with Bamford Geranium, Lavender and Peppermint Shower Gel, £22. Then ease tired toes with Spiezia Cooling Foot Cream, £25.95, with peppermint and lavender.

Treat skin every evening to a few drops of Skin and Tonic Brit Beauty Oil, £28, distilled in the UK with borage, thistle and chia seed as well as neroli essential oil. Massage in for a hydrating boost.
