Lanark based Border Biscuits is celebrating the success of its best-selling dark chocolate gingers, which have topped the UK sales charts making them the nation’s best-selling chocolate ginger biscuit.
Sales of dark chocolate gingers have been at an all-time high throughout 2015 and over 20 million biscuits have been produced by the dedicated Border Biscuits team, using up 155 tonnes of chocolate.
The entire chocolate ginger range continues to perform well for the premium biscuit manufacturer, with its younger sister, the milk chocolate ginger recently picking up a 2015 Great Taste ranking and additional listings in Tesco, Asda and Sainsbury’s.
Brand and sales manager Lesley Ann Gray said: “We’ve been overwhelmed by the popularity of our dark chocolate gingers. They’ve always been a firm favourite in Scotland, but the fact they’re now the UK’s best-selling chocolate ginger biscuit is really impressive.
“Our skilled team at the factory constantly strive for perfection and use only the best quality ingredients and baking methods, so we’d like to thank them and our extremely loyal customers for their continued support.”
