FITNESS fans proved they wanted to push themselves to the limit when the latest fitness class was launched at the Glasgow Club.

Around 100 people attended the launch of the Les Mills GRIT class at Glasgow Club Emirates Arena.

The class was delivered by four Les Mills Master Trainers as well as the Glasgow Club’s team of fitness experts.

The event was fully booked within two hours but with close to 50 weekly sessions operating at 10 sites across the city there is still plenty of opportunities for fitness fans and gym goers to try it out.

GRIT is a 30-minute High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) workout that improves strength, cardiovascular and explosive fitness, increasing speed and maximising calorie burn.

There are three separate programmes with GRIT Strength focusing on building muscle, GRIT Cardio focusing on maximising calorie burn while GRIT Plyo combines explosive jumping exercises with agility training.

Depute leader of Glasgow City Council and chairman of Glasgow Life, Councillor Archie Graham, said: “The Glasgow Club is Scotland’s premier health and fitness network, with our members having access to an unrivalled number of gyms, swimming pools and fitness classes across the city.

“But more than that, we have invested heavily in our facilities and continually develop our fitness programmes to ensure that members are able to train using the very latest equipment and technology.

"That is why more and more people are choosing the Glasgow Club as the place to keep fit.”

In addition to state-of-the-art gyms boasting the latest cardiovascular and strength and conditioning equipment, Glasgow Club customers also have access to more than1,300 fitness classes each week.
