Barbie's long-term boyfriend Ken has been given a makeover - to reflect real men.
It comes after Mattel released a new range of ‘fashionista’ Barbies (above) featuring curvy, tall and petite shapes plus assorted skin tones, eye colours and hair textures.
Now Ken has been given a new-look thanks to fashion shopping site Lyst
The firm decided to bring body-positive Ken to life, embracing a more realistic version of manhood in 2016.
Lyst’s ‘Fashionisto’ Ken line-up includes Beach DadBod Ken, Bearded Hipster Ken, and Balding Ken, alongside black, Asian and petite Kens.
To dress the new figures, the team at Lyst looked at the most popular fashion products purchased by men during the last year, taking into account sizing data for the global menswear market. The new Ken dolls reflect modern man’s real appearance, plus real fashion tastes.
Lyst data also showed that on average men are now spending £56 more than women per fashion purchase, making Ken’s wardrobe worth about 27% more than Barbie’s.
All of the pieces worn by the new figures are shoppable on Lyst.com
