IF you are very pale, fake tan is generally not your friend.

Too dark to look believeable, too pale to make any difference, very frequently on the yellow side. I've tried many many formulations but generally accept it's just not worth the trouble of stained clothes and bedsheets, unsightly streaks and an unpleasant smell.

However, I'm willing to try a few more in the interests of my fair sisters.

Evolve Sunless Glow Body Lotion is a 99% natural gradual tanner which the manufactuers say will develop into a "beautiful, healthy looking colour" as well as deeply moisturising the skin.

All products created by the Hertfordshire-based firm are hand-crafted using natural and organic oils, butters and natural superfoods as well as being vegan and cruelty free.

The lotion contains organic papaya to smooth the skin and prepare it for summer, organic aloe vera to soothe any signs of redness or irritation and shea butter to nourish and replenish dry skin.

It's a nice rich consistency and requires a lot of rubbing to massage into into the body. Which is probably why the result is completely streak-free. Even without the rigmarole of exfoliation, I'd say the product is foolproof.

It does have a whiff of the biscuity smell commonly associated with fake tans but it's not overwhelming.

After one application you are left with a very faint but believable sunblushed colour. I reckon it would take quite a few applications to achieve a decent colour but it's a lovely product to use.
