I’m more than guilty of neglecting my hair.

I rarely ever do anything with it, other than wash, dry and straighten. I'd much rather spend my money on clothes than on expensive products designed to make my hair a little bit shinier.

But with the past few week’s humid and wet weather making my hair even more frustrating than usual, I thought I may as well give something new a try.

Lucky for me, the chance to try Davines Your Hair Assistant Blowdry Primer was up for grabs and it sounded like a good way to dip my toe in the pond of fancy hair products.

The primer is described as having an anti-humidity effect for all hair types and providing texture and protection against heat and humidity.

In doing so, it enhances the natural shine of the hair and reduces blow-drying time.

The selling point of the Your Hair Assistant range is to give us regular people the tools to create a salon style blow-dry at home but, of course, spraying something on your hair isn’t going to turn you into a hairdressing pro.

But true to its word, the Blowdry Primer did cut down my blowdry time significantly and, after straightening it the next morning, it did appear sleeker. It also stayed straight for longer when usually it would puff out or start to curve at the bottom.

Overall, I would say the blowdry primer is worth a buy. It’s relatively hassle free and produces noticeable results.

Davines Your Hair Assistant Blowdry Primer Tonic costs £24.80 and is available to buy here.
