BEAUTY writers tell us there are some products worth splashing the cash on and others where budget is often best.

Foundation, concealer and nail polish is usually worth the splurge but for other products such as eyeliner you may well be paying for the packaging and the brand.

Charlotte Tilbury's Wonderglow is described as a "miracle fix" for dull, dehydrated skin.

Soft focus ceramic microspheres ‘roll’ into wrinkles and over imperfect skin tone, scattering light to create an anti-age optical illusion. Wrinkles are disguised and skin tone is corrected. All sounds very promising.

The product is described as a primer but seems a bit more like a highlighter and can be used on its own, under foundation or on top of your base.

I  love a good highlighter and usually mix a little into my foundation to give a dewy look for nights out. Benefit's High Beam has been a staple in my make-up bag for a number of years so I'm keen to try this one by Kate Moss's beauty guru.

Having used it a few times though, I'm not sure certain it lives up to the hype and the £38 price tag. It's a lovely product to use and contains no nasty parabens which is a plus point but I can't see a whole lot of difference in my skin, when used under my regular foundation.

I have a primer/highlighter by a well known high street chemist's own brand which cost less than six pounds that achieves far better results for me so I'll be sticking to that.

A disappointing two and a half stars.
