I am a convert. I have no problem admitting it. Long, shiny, in-your-face nails are the way forward.

I used to spend hours delicately filing and buffing my paper-thin, splitting nails only to be disappointed when the layers of polish I’d so carefully applied chipped off within hours. Now I don’t really know why I spent that long. Yes, it was probably cheaper in the short term but spending as few bob on nails that last is more satisfying.

Glasgow Times:

I’d seen NAF! all over Instagram, and the cute designs always made me intrigued to try it. Their friendly staff didn’t look at me as if I had three heads when I got confused by the nail jargon, and patiently explained to me how everything worked, and what to expect.

I started with an eyebrow wax and tint, and was really pleased with the results. The shape was perfect, and the service quick and professional.

Next I sat down at one of the little tables with one of the staff members Summer, who was ready to get to work on my short, dry nails and transform them into something great (or so I hoped). She set to work quickly, clipping, Filing, gluing…I could hardly keep up. This being the first time I’d ever had nail extensions, I had lots of questions, but she didn’t seem to mind and answered them all with ease.

The salon itself has a great, modern look that feels like you’ve just walked in to a real life Instagram filter. The chequerboard floor and donut decorations, bright lights and houseplants create a seamless sense of cool.

Glasgow Times:

Summer chatted as she put on the extensions, then carefully started applying the acrylic with a tiny paintbrush. Once it had dried, she filed it down so it was flush with my nail, and next the fun part started. I had been looking at previous designs the salon had done, as my mind had gone blank for nail inspiration, and spotted a super glittery greeny-blue colour which I loved straight away.

The magic happened when Summer explained it was actually a powder, applied over black polish, to create the extra-glittery. I was mesmerized as I watched her get to work, transforming my black nails into shimmery, colour changing talons. I couldn’t stop staring at them.

Glasgow Times:

The overall salon experience was fantastic – quick, professional and laid back at the same time and the staff have a true passion for what they do. I’ll definitely be back... And I’ve binned all my nail polish.
