Verdict: Four stars of I smell great

I don't know about you ladies but I am always on the hunt for a good perfume.

I like a strong smell that will last throughout the day and I love it even more when I get compliments from people.

So I tested YvesSaintLaurent's new Black Opium Floral Shock.

Now Victor & Rolf's Flowerbomb is my all time favourite so I have been hunting for an alternative - and this might just be it.

The scent is bright but not as strong as Flowerbomb. It lasts throughout the day and it certainly attracts compliments.

I am not sure it would be a contender for a going out perfum but it definately works for me for daytime.

The bottle is gorgeous too and is a great addition to my beauty table.

YSL's pitch for this scent describes it as a new sweet freshness - of fressia notes, the soft-green citrus of bergamot, and the delicate aroma of sugary pear - is wrapped with soaring sensuality of golden gardenia accord and an absolute of orange blossom.

As nice as that sounds, to you and I, all you need to know is when you spray the perfume next time while your shopping, it is one you will keep sniffing and then you will say, "I actually like that."

The 50ML bottle is £71 and available nationwide.
