Flats are not only comfortable for everyday wear, but with so many gorgeous styles on offer they are both fashionable and flexible, adding a splash of colour to a plain outfit or a dress or dressing down a flowing skirt.
Plenty of celebs have been spotted wearing them this week, from Rihanna and Jennifer Lopez in metallics, Kate Moss in nude gladiators with smart shorts and a blazer and recent bride Pippa Middleton in brown leather flats.
As far as accessories are concerned, this season the sandals themselves have many of the best ones, from pom poms to gem stones, proving that comfort doesn’t have to mean plain.
And the good news is you don’t need Pippa’s bank account to look great in flats, since the high street is choc full of chic but affordable options.
