IT used to be seen largely as the preserve of geography teachers, charity shop rakers and Pulp frontman Jarvis Cocker.
But this autumn corduroy is back on trend, which means it’s time to embrace and celebrate this most cosy, hardy and strokable of materials.
On the catwalk, the cord revival was led by the likes of Prada, Marc Jacobs and Mulberry, as the top-end labels designed wide-leg trousers in on-trend tones such as blush pink, terracotta, teal and burgundy.
On the high street, this translates into gorgeous high-waist pants that look great with high-heeled boots, and skirts - both straight and A-line - that pair perfectly with thick black tights and a pair of loafers.
Elsewhere, cord dresses and pinafores come in a vast array of colours and prints. Pair with a crisp white shirt for a quirky work look, then pop on some heels for a more glamorous evening look. Eat your heart out, Jarvis…
