THE words are like nectar to a bee.

“Pasta and Prosecco,” squealed the Moll grabbing my left arm and almost putting the Buick off the road. The car screeched to a halt on Great Western Road, narrowly missing old Betty Cooper, easing her way across the road on her zimmer.

I parked up the motor on a side street and we headed for the newest kid on the block in the bustling Kelvinbridge area, Te Seba.

It’s owned by the same, friendly folks who ran Cafe Enjoy for many years, before they transformed it into the highly rated, Turnip and Enjoy.

The latest venture from the Kosovan-born family has a more laid back vibe and it looks like they have picked a winner, focussing on two of the Glasgow public’s favourite things.

But with so many long-standing Italians jostling for space in Scotland’s largest city, there’s a lot riding on it.

The restaurant’s got a lovely feel to it, bright and airy with pretty lighting and exposed brickwork and we are glad of a cool place to rest our legs in the afternoon heat.

We are greeted by the owner, Seba, and given our choice of tables. It's quiet when we arrive but by dusk, the joint is cheek by jowl packed with diners. Blondie wastes no time in ordering up a glass of fizz. She licks her lips in anticipiation and studies the list of drinks.

There’s elderflower, lychee, raspberry, coconut and raspberry Bellinis and three choices of Prosecco including an organic variety, that’s fermented almost to dryness.

Blondie’s gone for a classic peach Bellini and it’s delivered pronto, the fruit as fresh as if it’s been picked off a tree in South Carolina.

While she’s silently supping, we peruse the menu. It’s divided into macaroni cheese, or cacio mac, as well as fettuccine or pappardelle ribbons and lasagne with meat options including Italian sausage with parmesan and cream or prawn, squid, mussel and tomato sugo for fish fans.

Giddy, from the bubbles, the Moll has a notion to go meat-free and plumps for the olive, walnut and sun-blushed tomato crush parpadelle, priced at a very reasonable £8.00.

It’s generously proportioned, light and extremely flavoursome, the sharpness of the olive perfectly complemented by the tomato and she devours every mouthful.

I was Hank Marvin as the saying goes and drawn to the beef ragu, which comes as lasagne or parpadelle pasta and again, very wallet-friendly £9.50 for this side of town. I go for the latter and it’s swiftly delivered.

It’s rich in flavour and packed with morsels of succulent beef and I was glad we ordered focaccia to scrape every last morsel from the bowl.

There’s isn’t much room left for dessert but Tiramisu is a favourite of Toots’ so we order up one to share. and it was outta sight good, super-light and creamy with a hearty dose of coffee. I’m having a hard time, stealing any mouthfuls and we wow to return for two at a later date.
