IT promises 'total facial radiance' with the help of diamond powder, gold, champagne and black truffles. Make no mistake this is a luxury cream and it has the price tag to match, at £90 a pot.

The online reviews are certainly promising, it was given the highest ever rating by the Beauty Bible, based on 17 years of testing 'miracle claim' products, achieving almost full marks from ten testers.

The moisturiser also contains black truffles, strawberries and cocoa butter. If it doesn't transform my skin, I might consider it for pudding.

I'm 43 and I think my skin is wearing pretty well, considering it's on the dry side and therefore prone to fine lines. I'm not sure I would consider the route of cosmetic treatments, although never say never - I'm a firm believer in exercise, enough sleep and a super-hydrating moisturiser so I'm looking forward to testing this.

It's designed to be used before a night out, as an overnight mask or just every damn day if you are feeling extravagant.

It's got a lovely consistency, sinking in and softening and after the first application my skin really does look better. The morning after my bedtime application, my complexion is brighter, smoother, more hydrated and the fine lines around my eyes are definitely less obvious.

Considering the price of beauty spa facials and cosmetic treatments, it might just be worth the splurge, even for an occasional skin-boosting treat.
