Employees, visitors and patients said during the planning process that they wanted to have improved walking and cycling access to the new hospital campus.
As a result, the council has accepted funding of £750,000 from the NHS to build the new routes which should be finished in time for the completion of the children's hospital in Spring next year.
The new routes will include:
l A shared use footway on Shieldhall Road between Renfrew Road and Hardgate Road, which will connect the hospital campus to Braehead.
l Improvements to existing off-road cycle paths next to Moss Road between Shieldhall Road and Peninver Drive.
l New on-road cycle lanes on Langlands Road between Skipness Drive and Arklet Road.
l Cycle improvements to the Clyde Tunnel.
l A new cycle route link in to Bellahouston Park.
The council also has £130,000 funding from Renfrewshire Council to design and construct two cross boundary schemes.
A route will be constructed between the hospital site and Braehead Shopping Centre.
And improvements have been made to the existing footway at Hurlet Road to make it more appealing to pedestrians and cyclists.
Alistair Watson, the council's land and environment spokesman, said: "Working with the NHS and Renfrewshire council, this investment will further promote walking and cycling as sustainable methods of transport.
"It is important people of all ages can travel around the new hospital by bike and on foot, conveniently and safely.
"The segregated parts of the routes will mean young cyclists or those new to cycling can ride with confidence.
"These projects will expand and enhance the city's cycling infrastructure and will tie in with the aspirations of the council's strategy plan for cycling.
"They will reduce harmful traffic emissions and assist in meeting the council's carbon reduction objectives."
The council presently has around 124 miles of cycles routes across the city but is hoping to increase that to 187 miles.
The cycle network includes cycle lanes on roads, off-road cycle tracks and designated routes in parks.
