IF you have been inspired by Glasgow 2014, this is the time to "Unleash your sporty side".

That's the name of the campaign by SportScotland aimed at getting more people involved in sport.

Louise Martin CBE, chair of sportscotland, said: "There has never been a better time to get into sport. The Commonwealth Games has created excitement across the country and sportscotland wants to use this enthusiasm to deliver a lasting sporting legacy for Scotland.

"We've set up 131 community sport hubs all over the country, making it easier than ever to step out your door and get involved in sport.

"It's not just about taking part, because there are lots of ways to play a crucial part in Scottish sport. You can volunteer in sport centres, hubs and training facilities.

"Or if you're an old hand at your favourite sport maybe now is the time to take up coaching and develop the next generation of Commonwealth champions."

Swimmer Stefan Hoggan, one of the faces behind the campaign, said: "Not everyone is going to want to become a performance athlete, but no matter what level you go on to compete at, it's so important to stay fit and healthy through being active."
