WHEN it comes to interior design, Lorraine Cotterell has a light touch in more ways than one.
By putting new home trends in the spotlight at Cotterell & Co in Glasgow's West End, she has translated her love of design into a collection of must-have accessories.
When the Crow Road shop closed from March to September this year after a flood, Lorraine got to work on a refurbishment that now highlights the full range of furniture and lighting.
Do you want a Rustic French home with a relaxed and luxurious feel in soft colours? Maybe your style is more Silk Road with bold acid brights, Heavenly Heritage, a modern twist on modern Scottish with antler and stag motifs, or Classic Elegance which gives a nod to Greek and Roman architectural styles.
Room sets around the showroom give ideas of what might work best where in your home with some of the larger lights and furniture ideal for homes with high ceilings and lots of space.
"Our philosophy is simple: to offer a hand-picked selection of lighting, perfectly complemented by beautiful furniture, mirrors and home accessories," explains Lorraine.
"It's all about having a good range of styles because everyone has their own tastes.
"On our website, which relaunched on the same day the Crow Road store reopened, you can now shop by style."
She adds: "Scandi country style is quite in just now, as is contemporary elegance style with crystal ball lights and antique brass colours."
As well as featuring designer brands from Italy, the store hosts the wider collection by Cotterell & Co designed by Lorraine and her business partner Millar Hamilton.
A graduate of Glasgow School of Art, she is delighted to be putting her skills to good use in the family business set up in Glasgow in 1952, which now has branches on Edinburgh and Newcastle.
She says: "Millar and I travel to trade shows all over the world, and have factories that make our own brand."
