For those of us who are rubbish at Mother's Day, handmade cosmetics company Lush have created a new range of special products to fill the blank space in your brain where ideas for gifts should be.

I was given the opportunity to try a few items from the range, before making the executive decision of whether my mum would approve.

Yummy Mummy Shower Cream RRP £9.95

First up to try was the shower cream. The metallic purple cream lathers onto the skin really well, leaving a lasting floral perfume. The inclusion of cocoa butter makes it feel a bit more luxurious than the usual shower gel experience. I wasn't too keen on the smell but it does leave a lasting impression which is what you want from a good shower cream.

Pink Custard RRP £4.25

A lot more jelly than custard, this product is a bit of a nightmare for those with a white bathroom suite like myself. After struggling to get the ‘custard’ out of the tub, it wibbled and wobbled all over my freshly cleaned bath leaving a trail of pink goop in its wake.

It’s a good concept but in reality, not the easiest product to use.

Honey lip scrub RRP £5.75

As an avid lipstick wearer, I’ve long been looking for a way to keep my lips smooth and my lipstick long lasting. For this reason I jumped at the chance to try the honey lip scrub. The product is nothing too complicated and can be applied basically anywhere (probably better in private unless you want people to think you've just eaten a sugar donut and forgot to lick your lips). The combined honey with a sugary scrub with the menthol of peppermint oil. It takes a few applications to really get in the best of it but it’s definitely worth it in the end.

All the Lush products mentioned are available online and instore.
