A week today, Scotland will take on Japan in their opening match of the Rugby World Cup in England. With the nation behind them, the team has a good chance of making it to the play-off stages.

The boys have been training hard at Murrayfield for months in preparation. But three members of the squad took some time off to try their hand at modelling for House of Fraser. And, as these pictures show, the trio – Hamish Watson, Sean Maitland and Mark Bennett – did pretty well. If they look this good when they walk out on the field, rugby fans be in for a treat!

All three are wearing clothes from Howick’s autumn and winter 2015 collection, which is perfect for those who like the preppy look. It's a look that never goes out of fashion - but how do you achieve it? We asked House of Fraser Glasgow’s personal shopper Emma Chicarella for some top tips.

“Opt for a slim fit chino to feel bang on trend for this season,” she said. “A smart, well-cut suit is a real investment piece that can be worn for years to come.

“The blazer can also be dressed down with a smart pair of jeans for a more informal look – so you get two outfits for the price of one.”

According to Emma, lots of guys get some of the simplest things wrong when it comes to looking good. But help is at help.

“The most common mistake when it comes to men’s clothing is badly fitted shirts or trousers,” she said. “House of Fraser Glasgow offers a free personal shopping service as well as a team of trained tailors in the formalwear department. Both services are free of charge and we are always on hand to help answer any questions.”

Meantime, those who want to cheer on the team will find a full range of official Scotland rugby gear on sale at House of Fraser. C’mon Scotland!
