Fashion: The winter hats you need this year

But with so many great styles to choose from this season, the chances are you'll want to get yourself a range of headgear to suit every occasion.

From a cosy beanie for wrapping up warm on the way to work, to floppy fedoras for afternoons of winter sun or sophisticated fake fur numbers nights out on the town, there’s a look – and a hat - to suit everyone.

Smart hats

Fedoras are everywhere this autumn, adding a dash of sophistication to any outfit. Match Mango’s wool fedora (£29.99) with an oversized Arran jumper and high boots for a cool weekend look. Beanie hats

Nothing beats a beanie during winter, either as a warm and practical finisher to an outfit - or the ultimate cover-up for bad hair days. Faux fur hats
