Big natural lashes and the easiest way to achieve seems to be the holy grail of the beauty world at the moment…

And it seems one Glasgow beautician has the perfect solution.

Revival Retreat offer a lash lift treatment to help your eyelashes achieve a fuller look…and it is just in time for the party season.

As a big fan of fake eyelashes, I thought I would try this treatment and see what all the fuss is about.

I visited Revival Retreat’s Byres Road branch – the beauty chain also have a base in Renfield Street – to undergo the treatment which lasts approximately an hour. Prior to the treatment, you are required to take a patch test at least 48 hours before – which I passed with flying colours.

Glasgow Times:

My beautician and lash expert was Kim Gibb, who has worked in the beauty industry over 20 years.

She said: “I am really excited about the lash lift treatment. It is a different technique from perming and it is not going to damage the lashes. It gives a real natural look.”

During the treatment, Kim ensured my eyes were “squeaky clean” and she removed mascara from the eyelashes. She then applied the lotions needed to lift each individual lash. During the process, she applied a lifting solution which is left on for around 15 minutes, and a setting solution.

The lashes are also tinted and Kim treated me to a face message which was very relaxing. Finally a nourishing solution is applied and your lashes are good to go.

Glasgow Times:

The lash lift opened up my eyes and gave a false-lash effect despite the fact I had no extensions. The best thing about the treatment, however, is that it is low maintenance. You can also still wear mascara or your strip false lashes over your lash lift if you are wanting a more dramatic look.

Kim says her clients range from people with straight lashes to those who don’t like extensions. Other clients have been allergic to lash extensions or may have lost hair due to age.

The treatment, which costs £50, lasts for around eight to 10 weeks depending on your natural hair growth and Kim supplies you with a wand to brush your eyelashes.

She also advises to clean the lashes gently with oil free make-up remover.

The treatment has got really popular in the last six months, and it is easy to understand why. It is a beauty treatment that gives you the outcome you want with little maintenance.
