One of the UK's biggest indie bands are to perform in Liam Gallagher's Pretty Green store in Glasgow - to celebrate its relaunch.

Dundee favourites The View will do an acoustic set in the store on Buchanan Street on Thursday, February 25.

The high-end menswear retailer, is to reopen its newly refurbished store in Glasgow.

The clothing label owned by former Oasis and Beady Eye frontman Liam Gallagher has two stores in the city including Ingram Street.

Founded in 2009, the brand offers fashionistas a modern twist on the classic 1960s mod look.

Alex Ruthen, Head of Retail at Pretty Green, said: "We are extremely excited to be reopening our doors at Pretty Green, Buchanan street Glasgow.

"This is a hugely important location for us and is the perfect spot for us to launch our new concept.

"This will be our first store where we have a dedicated gig and exhibition floor within the store.

"We look forward to working with both established and emerging talent across the full spectrum of music and art.

"Pretty Green prides itself on uniting people through a love of music and fashion and this is the right time to realise that ethos and see how our customer responds."

Glasgow Times:

The View performance comes after they supported The Libertines at the SSE Hydro in Janaury.

The band, fronted by Kyle Falconer, released their fifth studio album Ropewalk last year.

Glasgow Times:

The newly refurbished store is a Grade B listed building built in 1970 by architects Gillespie, Kidd & Coia.

Pretty Green say the store concept was created alongside SPB design whose  previous clients include designers Ralph Lauren, Mary Quant and Roberto Cavalli.

The clothing firm say the design of the store is a fully flexible linear efficient bespoke concept, inspired by a combination of gig venue and music studio.

This will play a huge part in making the store unique and echoes the brand values and inherent rock and roll spirit.
