Yoko Ono has more than just her Inspiration Award trophy to celebrate at the NME Awards ceremony taking place at Brixton’s O2 Academy.
The artist and singer will turn 83 at midnight and she clearly wanted to get in a few hours of entertainment before it turned 12am.

Wearing a black suit, white scarf and top hat, she emulated the circus ringmaster outfit she had donned for Annie Leibovitz’s 2016 Pirelli calendar – although with a clear nod to the chilly weather.

Yoko lowered her trademark shades for a closer look and then threw a peace sign for the crowds.

Yoko is the former wife of late Beatle John Lennon with whom she released seven albums, and her new remix album Yes, I’m A Witch Too is slated for release on Friday.

Yoko closed the red carpet, arriving just before the ceremony began, proving at 82, you know how to make an entrance.
