Jeans never goes out of fashion, of course. But a quick scout around the high street this spring tells you that they have never been more “in” - the choice is truly mindboggling. From culottes to fringes, rips to embroidery, to high-waists to low-waists (and just about every fit you can think of), there really is something for every taste, body shape and wallet.

This season’s big denim trends are easy to spot - and, thankfully, extremely wearable for most. Let’s start with fringes. The likes of Kim Kardashian, Selena Gomez and Lucy Watson have all been seen wearing cropped fringed or frayed jeans, which look equally great with heals or flat strappy sandals. River Island has a great light wash pair for £42. Worn with a simple white T and leather jacket, it’s a great look.

Nineties fashion is back this season too, which means high-waisted, light wash jeans. Next has some great examples priced at just £36, while Topshop, which also knows a thing or two about the period, has a particularly wide selection of washes and fits, including this on-trend “refinished” look.

Flares go in and out – and this season they’re definitely in. Cropped or not, they look particularly great with heals. Try this pair from Jigsaw for £98.

This spring really is all about the jean scene – so why not treat yourself to a new look or two.
