Since it opened last year, Glasgow-based IOLLA has put the fun and affordability back into eyewear.

The brand, which has a showroom in the city’s hip Finnieston district and also sells online, offers the most stylish glasses and sunglasses in town, with every pair coming in at the same low price: just £65. With this in mind, fashion-conscious folk are already adding multiple pairs to their wardrobes to create different looks.

And with summer upon us, IOLLA – which means “to see” in Gaelic – has just launched its first range of polarised sunglasses for men and women. Polarised lenses not only look supercool, but they work to prevent glare and are thus great for your eyes. Although polarised lenses aren’t yet available on prescription sunglasses, all of the latter are given an anti-reflective coating to ensure crystal clear vision.

Founder Stefan Hunter designs all the brand's frames with style and comfort in mind, and every pair of glasses is made here in Scotland. Each style is named after a well-known person from Scottish history.

Said Stefan: “We want to create a brand that champions simplicity, transparency and honesty, and revolutionises the way people buy prescription eyewear and sunglasses."

The showroom is open seven days a week and since no appointments are necessary, you can just pop in. You can even enjoy a coffee while you try on the many different styles. The brand’s website, meanwhile, is easy and fun to use.

IOLLA is offering one lucky reader a pair of glasses and prescription glasses. To win, just answer the following question: in which Glasgow district is the IOLLA showroom?

For a chance to win, just email your answer, alongside your name and contact details, to: marketing@eveningtimes.co.uk. The winner will be chosen on Thursday.
