IT really was a nice place for a white wedding when a bride and groom tied the knot at a snow centre.

Karen Corr, 31, from Pollok, married Mark Gallagher, from Paisley, on the slopes of Snow Factor, the country's only indoor real snow facility.

The happy couple, who were joined by 35 guests, were unfazed by the sub-zero temperatures.

The bride even wore her favourite red wellies before changing into snow boots for what was the first wedding hosted by the winter sports centre.

Karen, a field teacher with Starling Learning, in Lochwinnoch, said: "We both worked, met and fell in love with snowboarding and each other at Snow Factor.

"Over the years we've made amazing friends there.

"We're quite a quirky couple, so I suppose we were bound to do something a little different."

After the wedding ceremony, the bride, groom and their guests enjoyed a wedding breakfast within Bar Varia, a ski café bar that overlooks the snow and ice-climbing wall.
