Good point to raise too, as I often find that many cleansers don't remove my make-up effectively and clean my skin deep down.
It's a valid concern because to get a healthy-looking glow, we really need products that completely remove make-up and cleanse the skin, so you can imagine my delight when I discovered Merumaya Integrative Effective Skincare, who have developed products to specifically address this need - hooray!
The brand, which is a favourite with former Eastender and Strictly Come Dancing beauty Kara Tointon, has developed products that help prevent ageing and give skin a vibrant, youthful glow.
I decided to give two of their products a try - the Melting Cleansing Balm and Luxury Facial Wash. I was impressed by both.
The Melting Cleansing Balm smells amazing and feels silky smooth on your skin. The wweet almond oil and echium seed oil ingredients melt into your skin, helping to softly cleanse away your makeup and preparing your skin for a deeper cleanse. As you massage this in to your face, it glides across your skin and you can feel and see it gently removing your make-up.
After this I cleansed using the Luxury Facial Wash - and to my relief (see, I really am a skincare geek) it went foamy! I love face wash that foams up because you can really feel it cleansing the skin to the point it's almost squeaky clean. With extracts of pomegranate and mangosteen it delivers a deep, refreshing cleanse. It left no residue, and didn't make my already combination to oily skin feel greasy at all.
I think this brand is a great addition to the skincare market and I think I'll be taking a trip to John Lewis to try more very soon.
If you visit the Merumaya Integrative Effective Skincare® counter at John Lewis Glasgow from Thursday September 5 to Sunday September 8 they are giving away deluxe trial sizes of Youth Preservation Moisturiser SPF15 - a good time to go shopping, perhaps!
