SPRING might not have sprung just yet but that doesn't mean you can't brighten up your day with some of the latest new season make-up launches.

There's a laid-back feel to the latest colours with soft sorbet shades that look good enough to eat.

Bareminerals has gone back to the 1960s with its Modern Pop collection of pretty pastels.

The Bareminerals Ready Eyeshadow 4.0 in the Modern Icon, £29, features a quartet of colours from chic, a pink cashmere, to exhale, a warm slate.

While the Marvelous Moxie Cream Glaze Lip Topcoat, £16, in a pearl glaze, and Lasting Line Long-Wearing Eyeliner, £15, in classic cream both have a wonderfully retro feel.

There are three new Marvelous Moxie Lipsticks, £18 each, in various shades of creamy peach, and a Lash Domination Volumizing Mascara, £18, in intense black.

The secrets of perfect contouring are revealed in the latest releases from Clinique.

Simply blend the Chubby Stick Sculpting Contour, £19, and Chubby Stick Sculpting Highlight, £19, with your fingertips for a natural look.

For a more polished finish, try the Clinique Sculptionary Cheek Contouring Palette, £28. Use each of the three colours in the palette separately to colour, contour and highlight, or swirl them together for a natural go.

The new Clarins Garden Escape collection adds a subtle flush of colour.

The limited edition six-colour Eye Palette, £32, features luscious greens, pretty pinks and woody browns. While the Blush Prodige, £26, has two complimentary shades to sculpt and highlight the cheeks.

Lips are brightened and moisturised with Joli Rouge Brilliant Sheer Shine Lipsticks, £19 each, in coral and rose. Then drench them with the Limited Edition Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil, £18 that is currently flying off the shelves.

Mac stands out from the crowd with a collection of reds for eyes, lips, cheeks and nails - from soft pinks to fiery ruby shades.

Cover lips in See Sheer lipstick, £15.50, a grapefruit pink, or try Cremesheen Glass, £17.50, in Night is Young, a bright red cream.

Then look out next month for a range by designers and illustrators Isabel and Ruben Toledo with eye palettes, £33; lipstick, £17; blush, £25; and a brush, £31, in distinctive bold packaging.

This season Estee Lauder's Pure Color Envy Shine Sculpting Lipstick, £25, has been reworked into a sheerer formula. It has the same great hydration and shine but now offers more illuminating colour.

While the Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Eye Pencil, £16.50, has also been revamped. It is now water-resistant with an improved silicone smudge tip and an even better collection of colours, from jewel tones to mattes and shimmers.
