BRITISH handbag and accessories brand Radley is opening a new store in Glasgow.

Having previously been located in Royal Exchange Square, the brand is making a move to the prestigious Princes Square shopping centre on Saturday, where it will sit alongside Whistles, Cos and Vivienne Westwood.

Founded in 1998, Radley has always had a strong British ethos.

This is reflected in the design of the new Glasgow store which features a new concept which will also be rolled out to its UK stores and in all international store openings.

The store design is firmly focused on British heritage and Radley's hometown of London.

Lucie Watkins, head of Creative, said: "We chose to design the new store concept in-house, as we felt we know our customers better than anyone else! We like to look everywhere for inspiration, and where better to look than our birth place and home town.

"From the brick walls, to the lampposts and cast iron railings, we have tried to bring a little bit of London in to each of our stores."

Radley aims to provide affordable luxury bags and leather goods to women.

Design signatures include the use of bold colour, quirky details and the infamous Scotty dog logo.

The new Autumn/Winter 2014 collections features many stand out designs including the fun circular Bloomsbury canteen cross body bag below priced £129, the roomy heritage-inspired Berkeley bag and the high fashion two-tone Border clutches.

Zizi Hill, Head of Design, said: "Simplicity, colour and structure lies at the heart of this Radley AW14 collection.

"We introduced a series of key new ranges in a confident Autumnal colour palette peppered with bold bursts of colour.

"We sought inspiration from the iconic designs that fill our London landscape, from the classic London black cab to the Victoriana of our Westminster lamp posts, from the silhouette of the iconic red London post boxes to the uniformity of a belisha beacon.

"The street furniture of London became an endless reference for shape and form resulting in a collection of refined silhouettes injected with pops of colour, making the ordinary, extraordinary."

Radley has also just launched its second collection in collaboration with Scottish fashion designer Holly Fulton.

The collection follows on from the success of the first one last winter and is inspired by Fulton's signature art deco designs.

Featuring four styles - a tote, envelope bag, circular cross body bag and Scottie dog clutch - this collection features new silhouettes and a colour palette of navy, sky blue and green.

With prices ranging from £129-£279, it is an affordable way to buy into the work of one of Scotland's emerging fashion talents.
