Since then, the number of brands offering quality products without the high price tags has really increased - and this makes them perfect for teens who love experimenting and playing with makeup looks.
A few weeks ago I was doing my usual makeup shopping and came across a new product range from cosmetic brand Collection, launched in collaboration with girl group Little Mix, which inspired me to write about the brands I'd recommend to teenagers who love makeup as much as I do!
The Little Mix by Collection range features lots of products inspired by the girls individual styles. From bronzers and lipgloss, to eyeliner and blusher, there's lots to choose from, and prices start from only £1.99.
Here are some of the other brands that I think are top for makeup loving teenagers:
Sleek has makeup that's on-trend and high-quality without the premium price tag. They embrace style and colour, and in particular I'm a massive fan of their lipsticks which are just £4.99. Their eyeshadow palettes are also amazing quality. I buy my Sleek products from Superdrug and would highly recommend this brand.
Barry M Cosmetics
Barry M has been around for a while now, and it's one of my go-to brands for bright, fun, quality cosmetics. Their nail varnishes, in my opinion, are the best budget nail varnishes available - great colour range, quick and easy to apply and reasonably long lasting. Teens who love colour will also love their bright eyeliners, dazzle dusts and lip crayons. With a lot of the products under £5, Barry M is friendly on the purse too.
Mary Kay Cosmetics
This brand is still building a name for itself in the UK, but in the USA, it's one of the best-selling and is very popular. Recently they launched a product range specifically designed for teenagers, Mary Kay at Play. I've personally tried the eyeshadows and eye crayons - both of which I loved. The best bit about this brand is that you can try it all before you buy anything via Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultants. So get the girls round for a night in and get experimenting with new makeup looks - find someone near you at marykay.co.uk
I also love Rimmel, No7, Gosh and Bourjois for makeup essentials. When you're in your teens, experimenting with makeup looks and colours is so much fun and the best way to develop your own makeup skills, so enjoy!
