FROM tartan prints and grunge beanie hats to glamorous dresses, the new season is shaping up to be a winner.

High street stores have taken inspiration from catwalk favourites, including Chanel and Saint Laurent, to produce exciting new lines.

Whether you want to channel a 1960s starlet or a punk princess, there is something for everyone. And Glasgow shopping centre The Forge, in the East End, has all the latest trends at bargain prices.

With shops including Primark, H&M, Dunnes, Quiz and River Island, the mall allows shoppers to get a high-end look on a budget.

This Saturday it is hosting a catwalk event to showcase new stock. Models will strut around the mall, as well as in the windows, to give customers inspiration for their shopping list. We asked staff at four stores to model their favourite outfits from the new range and offer up their style secrets.

INTERNATIONALE

Alison Bingham, 30, store manager, from Carntyne

She said: "I like to go for something fashionable when I'm shopping but I don't like anything too fussy.

"I love the dress I'm wearing because it's so flattering and easy to wear.

"The PU sleeve detail is really trendy and it keeps it from being boring.

"There are so many great things coming into the store at the moment. There are fab tartan and floral prints coming through that are selling well.

"On my shopping list is a parka jacket with a big furry hood and a lurex sparkly dress for Christmas.

"What we give customers here is a great service and try to make sure they find whatever they want to wear for the weekend, or for their event.

"In Glasgow people aren't afraid to experiment with different styles so it's a good place to get inspiration."

KRUSH

Chelsea Mallon, 22, sales assistant, from Crookston

She said: "I love this outfit because it's exactly what I would wear on a night out.

"I like going to pubs with my friends and sometimes we go to clubs such as Sugarcube in the city centre so a dress like this is perfect. I like to follow fashion so buy things that are on trend.

"Tartan and other prints are a major trend at the moment so that's on my shopping list.

"My last purchase was a jumper dress from Krush in a coral colour which I like because I can wear it casually or dress it up with boots."

Krush sales assistant Frances Catchpole, 44, added: "We get girls coming in and buying their whole outfit in one go, from their footwear to their accessories, because there's so much to choose from here.

"What you get is value for your money."

RIVER ISLAND

Stacey McFarlane, 27, sales assistant, from Barmulloch

She said: "I always make an effort when I go out so this is exactly the kind of outfit I like to wear.

"Anything with a bit of glitter and I love clutch bags.

"I usually go out in the Merchant City to places such as Bar Home and Metropolitan.

"My style is girly, I nearly always wear dresses. If I'm not in a dress I like a pair of skinny jeans.

"I find a lot of people who go out are more casual now but I still like to make a big effort.

"I really like the embellished tops we have in store at the moment. I'd wear them with skinny or leather look jeans."

"I am also really loving the tartan that's around."

BONMARCHE

Carol Nisbet, 54, sales assistant and personal shopper adviser, from Rutherglen

She said: "I picked this outfit because tunics are really flattering and I like the print. You could wear it dressed up or down.

"I find it quite hard to buy clothes because of my size and height, but Bonmarche always has fashionable clothes that suit everyone.

"I'm drawn to a lot of colour. I think women who are bigger think black is more flattering but I always say colour is better.

"The new autumn/winter range in the shop is fabulous.

"I'm a big fan of the lighter coloured coats and there's a leopard print coat I want.

"People tend to think Bonmarche is just for older people but we have something for everyone in here.

"We have also started a new personal shopper service.

"I love helping people find clothes they are comfortable and stylish in.

"I'm a big fan of fashion."

Lauren McAulay, 22, supervisor at Bonmarche, added: "We love the new range because there's lots for the festive season."

IT is only Hallowe'en but the festive season is already covered by The Forge.

On November 17 at 2pm Santa Claus is coming to the mall, as the grotto opens to families.

There will be performances from Edward Reid and the Risk, who will be switching on the Christmas lights.

Activities for youngsters will also be taking place and the gift wrapping service is also starting.

The grand finale will be a fireworks display at 7pm.

The Forge manager Paul Wishart said: "We have got plenty of choice for the whole family.

"You could go shopping, have a bite to eat and visit the cinema then go back and collect your wrapped up gifts and they will be all ready for Christmas."
