There are already super cool venues (quite literally) in Reykjavik, Moscow, London and New York - and now Glasgow is to get its own ice bar, located at Snow Factor Braehead.

With a roof and door, the 25-person capacity ice-bar is to be constructed entirely of ice within the £32 million Snow Factor development that already offers alpine skiing, snowboarding, ice-climbing, sledging and even an ice-luge run for snow-sport enthusiasts of all ages and ability.

To be located adjacent to the main 170 metre long snow slope, Snow Factor's Ice Bar is the latest innovation by mountain sports entrepreneur and Snow Factor International owner, Jamie Smith.

The first of its kind and certainly the coolest bar in Scotland, it will serve a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic concoctions chilled to perfection. Visitors will discover the walls, bar, tables and even the glasses are made of ice.

With the inside temperature approximately minus 6C, Snow Factor plans to provide all patrons with snug jackets for their visit. Entry to the ice bar will be free with visits restricted to 45 minutes.

Jamie Smith, who also owns Ice Factor Kinlochleven, the world's largest indoor ice climbing facility, commented: "Our customers are guaranteed a warm welcome in Ice Bar, Scotland's only venue to be constructed entirely of snow and ice."

"From New York to London, trendy sub-zero ice-bars are proving to be extremely popular. Now not only can our skiing, snowboarding and ice climbing customers enjoy an ice time with their friends, but partygoers from Scotland and beyond will be able to enjoy a unique, fun and memorable venue less than 10 minutes from Glasgow city centre and the airport."

It's anticipated that customers of the Ice Bar will be able to 'come and chill' at Snow Factor Braehead from April 2015.
