A GLASGOW chef took the top title in the Scottish Curry Awards.
Jiggy Majhu, who runs the Ashoka Cook School and restaurant chain alongside her husband Sanjay, was named Scottish Curry Queen for 2013.
The sixth annual awards ceremony, which received more than 8000 nominations in total, was held on Monday at the Thistle Hotel in Glasgow city centre.
Jiggy, who became the first woman to win the top accolade since 2008, said: "After so many years of curry 'kings,' I'm delighted to be taking home the award and flying the flag for the women in the industry."
The award marks a continuing positive spell for Ashoka, with Jiggy having published her second book, Simply Jiggy, last year.
The group also recently launched its first Edinburgh restaurant, with the Ashoka World Buffet having opened on Hanover Street in March.
This follows the successful launch of the Ashoka Cook School in 2011.
