CITY restaurant boss James Rusk has been appointed chairman of a city tourism ­organisation.

Mr Rusk will take over the post at ­Glasgow Welcomes, a tourism service initiative.

The organisation is designed to support the delivery of a world class visitor experience through customer service training and development opportunities for tourism and hospitality businesses.

Mr Rusk is the owner of the award-winning The Butchershop Bar & Grill steakhouse in the West End, recently launched Hutchesons steak and seafood house, in ­Ingram Street, and is vice chairman of Glasgow Restaurant Association.

He has 15 years' experience in the hospitality and catering industry.
