Ad Lib, 111 Hope Street, Glasgow City Centre G2 6LL

"I ordered salt and pepper squid followed by a cheese and bacon burger. The food arrived in a timely fashion and was hot but not burning," raves Elizabeth B. The squid starter is served with a sesame ginger dip.

Asia Style, 185 St Georges Road, Charing Cross G3 6JD

Lex G tips the "crispy chilli and salt squid and soft shell crab are not to miss, nor are the noodles or the duck."

Central Market, 51 Bell Street, Glasgow Merchant City G1 1NX

For a generous starter, try the "chargrilled squid with panzella salad." The squid is a large portion with three pieces of squid plus some tentacles!

Crabshakk, 1114 Argyle Street, Finnieston G3 8TD

Paula M "had a mishmash of specials & original menu items. The standouts for me were the special of hake with squid ink paella and red pepper salsa, and the crab cakes. I could've eaten a massive portion of each!"

Don Costanzo, 13 Woodside Crescent, Glasgow West End G3 7UL

"I was talked into trying the special by the Don himself, which was a squid and prawn pasta in a gorgeous slightly spicy tomato sauce, I also choose a side of deep fried zucchini flowers," says Pammi G.

The Hanoi Bike Shop, 8 Ruthven Lane, Glasgow West End G12 9BG

Jasmine R loves that the "salt and pepper squid were crisp and never chewy! The tofu is beautifully crunchy on the outside and served with a yummy glass noodle salad. By the way they make their own tofu in the shop!"

Jamie's Italian, 1 George Square, Glasgow City Centre G1 1HL

Trying the crispy squid starter, Lex G advises this is a "wee portion of fresh squid, cooked to perfection with garlic aioli. Verdict: nom."

Old Salty's, 1126 Argyle Street, Finnieston G3 8TD

This old fashioned chippy is party restaurant, and part takeaway. Make sure you grab a portion of calamari - £5.25 as a dine-in starter.

Opium, 191 Hope Street, Glasgow City Centre G2 2UL

Chris R says "highlights were the har gau (dumplings) and chilli salt and pepper squid (curried baby squid was nice too)!"

Sapori D'Italia, 1102 Cathcart Road, Glasgow South Side G42 9EG

Rocco G "had a wonderful seafood caserecce pasta dish with fresh clams and squid. It tasted just like the real stuff I would get in Italy!"
