It is one of Scotland's favourite foods, a spicy treat often enjoyed with friends and a cold pint of lager.

With this in mind, city guide Yelp is showcasing some of the best places in Glasgow to eat pakora with a new initiative aimed at celebrating the city's Indian food.

The Pakora Passport, which will be launched at Mother India later this month, offers pakora fans the chance to meet up with others and sample the much-loved starter at different restaurants throughout the city.

All those who attend events during the three months of the initiative will get their passport "stamped", and those with enough stamps will be invited to join Yelp Glasgow's Secret Pakora Club, according to the organisers.

Yelp's community manager Briony Cullin said: "Pakora Passport is a fun way to sample pakora from a range of great local businesses.

"Our outings will take in restaurants across Glasgow with a cool group of people. You never know what pakora delights you'll discover!"

The free launch event at Mother India will feature a range of different pakoras to try as well as beers specifically chosen to match the spicy flavours from Fyne Ales.
