Cinderella found some traditional transport at the Citizens Theatre in 1971, when she took to the stage during panto season in Glasgow.
TV actress Cheryl Campbell, was playing the lead role, with Tim Curry as Buttons, in the extravaganza.
The show ran from December 17, 1971 to January 15, and, after lots of hard work early on, all went according to plan, with Cinderella finding her prince and heading off for a new life in a (small) horse-drawn carriage.
But elsewhere, Cinderella has faced greater problems than even her wicked stepmother in pursuing her path towards happily ever after.
One council banned the use of live animals on stage, leaving poor Cinders relying on fellow cast members to don horse costumes to pull her carriage.
But, no matter what befalls a production, panto stars can always save the day by making things up on the hoof.
