GLASGOW Green's Winter Gardens looks positively steamy and tropical in this fabulous picture from 1910.
The glasshouse, part of the Peoples' Palace, had a full house for a concert by Glasgow's famous Orpheus Choir.
Founded in 1906, it was led by the charismatic Hugh S Roberton. We think that's him on the podium, right.
For almost 50 years until it disbanded in 1951, on the retirement of its founder, the choir had no equal in Britain and toured widely enjoying world acclaim.
Roberton wrote such famous songs as Westering Home and Mairi's Wedding.
A pacifist, Roberton and the choir were banned by the BBC from broadcasting during the Second World War.
After Roberton's death, the choir was reformed, under the new name of the Phoenix Choir.
