JUST because there was a war on didn't mean Glasgow folk had to give up their holidays.
This well dressed family, mum and weans in matching straw hats and dad in his good suit, complete with natty watch fob, were off down the Costa del Clyde 1915, and were beginning their journey from St Enoch Railway Station.
With dad doing the heavy lifting, the wee girls helped out by carrying their own bags. Mum, who looks like a bit of a nippy sweetie, carried a brolly and was in charge of herding the family to the right platform.
Mind you, we'd have kept an eye on the dodgy looking bloke on the left. There were always wideboys at the station who would offer 'help to carry your bag, sir?', and then carry it off, flog the contents and go and make hay with the cash.
