They may look solemn, but this gathering of gents was celebrating the anniversary of the foundation of an order that had once been dissolved by Mary, Queen Of Scots.
The procession is on its way to Provand's Lordship after leaving Glasgow Cathedral.
It is the Festival Of St John, which marked the foundation of the Venerable Order Of The Hospital Of St John Of Jersualem, the oldest order of chivalry in Scotland. It had been revived in 1947 after being dissolved in 1554.
For this ceremony, about 180 members and guests, including the Lord Provost and magistrates in their robes of office, took part.
They were accompanied by clergy, the cross and sword.
Now, 65 years on, the Order is still a charity dedicated to helping others through medical and rescue activities.
This year's Divine Service is at the cathedral on October 25.
