WHEN you haven't got much, a little means a lot.
These kids, in the care of Glasgow Corporation's Child Welfare department, got a special treat when Santa came to visit in 1951.
Mind you, the wee lad at the front looks less than impressed with his gift - a toy toolkit. He'd probably been hoping for a bicycle or a train set.
Never mind, if he was anything like most Glasgow lads, that toy hammer would soon be put to good use - testing his friends' reflexes and knocking lumps out of any inanimate object which came within reach.
The wee boy with the toy van and the girl with the rolling pin certainly seem more pleased with their Christmas gift.
Who knows, perhaps the gift spurred the wee man on to stick in at his studies and take up a trade.
